Definition

Information architecture refers to all the means used to define the user experience of a site. It is the art and science of organising information to help users satisfy their information needs while also fulfilling the project’s communications aims. It is the shaping of the site structure that makes it possible to detail the information hierarchy, functions, navigation system and interactions.

Approach

Formalising the design makes it possible to experiment, suggest solutions, and evaluate them prior to implementation. Developing an effective information architecture means finding a balance between user needs and the communications and marketing objectives.

Deliverables

  • Benchmark
  • Navigational architecture
  • Wireframes and storyboards
